Oceania Rugby 7s Tournament Set⁢ to Feature 15 Nations

The upcoming⁤ Oceania ‍Rugby 7s ‌tournament in Honiara will⁢ see participation from⁤ a total of 15 nations, including ​the hosts, Solomon ‌Islands. Scheduled for the⁢ weekend of ​December 7-8, this‌ year’s competition promises‌ to be an ‌exciting showcase of regional talent.

Participating Nations and ‍Categories

This year’s tournament will⁢ feature teams ⁤from various⁢ countries including⁣ Fiji, Tuvalu, ⁢Nauru, Australia, Vanuatu, ‍American Samoa, Japan, ‍Samoa, ⁣Cook ⁣Islands, Kiribati, New⁢ Caledonia, Tonga, Niue, Tahiti and the Solomon Islands. The event includes‌ both Men’s and Women’s categories; there are 15 confirmed teams⁤ for the Men’s competition and 9 teams ​for the Women’s competition.

In detail:

  • Men’s Category: ⁣ Comprises teams divided into‌ four groups ⁣(A through D), with ‍Group A consisting of three teams‌ while the other groups feature four each.
  • Women’s Category: Includes nine⁣ participating nations⁣ distributed among three groups. Teams in ‌this category‌ comprise: Fiji Development⁢ Squad, Vanuatu, Samoa
