Australian gymnasts Emma Nedov and Jesse Moore won gold in the women’s and men’s all-around, respectively, at the Oceania Championships that ended Sunday in Auckland.
The 28-year-old Nedov handily took the title over silver medal-winning teammate Kate Sayer, with New Zealand’s Isabell Brett claiming bronze. Sayer placed eighth all-around at the 2023 Oceania Championships.
Defending champion Ruby Pass of Australia did not compete, and defending silver medalist Reece Cobb of New Zealand finished fourth.
New Zealand’s Georgia-Rose Brown, who earned a berth to this summer’s Paris Olympic Games through her rankings at the World Cup series earlier this year, competed on only two apparatuses. She scored 13.166 on vault and 13.900 on uneven bars.
In the men’s competition, 2022 all-around champion Moore outscored teammate Clay Mason Stephens, who retained his silver medal-winning result from a year ago. Australia’s Heath Thorpe, who was fifth in 2023, took bronze.
Defending men’s champion Mikhail Koudinov of New Zealand did not compete because of injury.
