The Ultimatum: South Africa is the latest iteration of the hit Netflix show, and Khanya Nqolase is making waves as the most villainous Ultimatum cast member to appear in the franchise. The self-described entrepreneur is shockingly lacking self-awareness in every scene of the dramatic iteration of the original show. This spinoff of The Ultimatum: Marry Or Move On features six couples working through relationship issues before entering into a marriage. Like the original, one member from each couple issued the other an ultimatum: either get married at the end of the experiment or move on.

Khanya entered the experiment with Nkateko Mahange, a Sales and Strategist Manager at Vividaret. The pair were in a relationship for a year before Khanya proposed an ultimatum, leading them to enter into trial marriages. 34-year-old Khanya felt ready for this step, but Nkateko expressed concerns about financial stability. During their interactions with other contestants, Khanya found it hard to connect with the other men, but this was only the beginning of her outlandish behavior on The Ultimatum: South Africa season 1.

Reality TV is more popular than ever. With so many to choose from, here are some of the best reality TV shows to stream or watch right now.

Khanya Is A Gold Digger
She Doesn’t Want To Bring Anything To Relationships

Khanya’s first red flag was exhibited in the early scenes of The Ultimatum: South Africa. When everyone engaged in the speed dating exercise, Khanya was seen saying in a bored, monotone voice that she was an entrepreneur. While running a business is a fulfilling and difficult career choice, there was a girl-boss vibe in the way she answered the question. Some women participating in shady multi-level marketing schemes and starting side hustles that burn through money call themselves entrepreneurs. Khanya’s answer bears the weight of this assumption.

Khanya alleges her business ventures center around interior design.

Nkatenko began to enjoy Sizakele Dhlamini’s company more than he could have anticipated, relishing her softness and bubbly personality. However, Issac Kaninda didn’t have the same experience in his trial marriage with Khanya. After Khanya refused to cook, clean, buy things, or have a job, Isaac asked her what she brought to the table. Khanya responded, “I am the table,” prompting Isaac to label her a golddigger.

I am the table.

While Khanya claimed she wasn’t a gold digger, the writing was on the wall. She laughed it off, asking why she would be with Nkateko if she were a gold digger. However, Nkateko is a kindhearted person who has a well-paying job as established early in the season. Khanya wants to be pampered and taken care of without offering love, support, fun, or splitting domestic tasks.

Khanya Thinks She’s Better Than All The Guys
She Found Them Boring While Giving One-Word Answers

Khanya thinks she’s better than all the guys, as evidenced in the first scene and later in the show. She even shames Nkateko, calling him a “boy” at various points throughout the season when he tries to stick up for himself. Khanya seems to think she is the ultimate prize to be won but even the men can see past her beauty. Nkateko’s mother tried to warn him, calling her bitter. Siza also called Khanya bitter later in the season after Khanya bullied her out of the room.

Related 10 Shows Like The Ultimatum: Marry Or Move On

With the finale of The Ultimatum: Marry Or Move On finally out, fans of the show should check out some other reality series with some serious drama.

Khanya has an air of entitlement, self-importance, and selfishness truly unmatched by anyone in previous seasons. Additionally, her treatment of Nkateko was borderline abusive. The screaming, pushing, and hitting would never be tolerated the other way around, with her anger issues raising red flags of domestic violence. Throwing red wine on Nkateko and then demanding an apology was her most egregious wrong of many during The Ultimatum: South Africa season 1.

Khanya Shames The Other Women
Her Insults Are Shocking And Offensive

Khanya’s insults to the other women are especially cruel. She saved her worst quips for Siza, whom she viewed as a threat to her relationship with Nkateko. The South African woman regularly called the other women “hood rats” and openly made fun of Siza’s weight. As she saw Nkateko and Siza frolicking through the grass, including Nkateko giving Siza a piggyback ride, she scoffed at the idea that he was able to lift her. Isaac couldn’t believe her insults. She bullied Siza to her face, fat shaming and insinuating promiscuity.

However, Khanya’s insults weren’t reserved for just Siza. She also shamed Ruth Khathide for sleeping with Nolla, and while her actions were questionable, she accused Ruth of being trashy and completely overstepped in their argument. Khanya’s villainy was especially shocking due to her unemotional, monotone delivery. She had no regard for anyone’s feelings but her own.

While Nkateko shouldn’t have given Khanya a promise ring in the finale, at least she left him. Khanya ending the relationship was the best thing that could have happened to Nkateko, and the two haven’t reunited since the show. Shockingly, Khanya had a baby after The Ultimatum: South Africa’s filming, but it’s unclear who the father is. Hopefully, she’s a better mother than her behavior as a girlfriend would indicate.
