Paradis Beachcomber Hotel Review, Mauritius

Most of the 280 generous-sized, sea-facing rooms and suites with terraces/balconies and large bathrooms are restyled Junior suites, clothed in soothing neutral tones with light oak and a palm mural over the bedhead. They’re set between the golf course and palm-fringed swimming beaches.

Eight roomy and private Senior Beachfront suites, refurbished with classy rich wooden furniture and floors, and accents of green, are steps from reserved loungers on the beach. For more of a modern island vibe opt for smart Paradis Beachfront suites, set in a peaceful spot further from the main action, with warm ash bedheads, floor-to-ceiling glass doors, egg-shaped bath and splashes of ocean blue.

Most coveted on this side of the hotel, are the four double-sized Ocean Beachfront suites, on a private beach at the tip of the peninsula, although the bargain is the Paradis Bay View rooms, tucked away in the quiet tropical garden, with a view of mountains over the lagoon. Thirteen private Beach Villas – among them a four-bedroom Presidential Villa – have nature-inspired interiors and offer helicopter transfers, a chef and butler service.
