Three Americans appear in court over last month’s botched coup attempt in DR Congo. The defendants could be facing the death penalty after being accused of terrorism, murder and criminal association. Also, pro-democracy activists in Sudan say the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) have killed around 40 people in the city of Omdurman. Meanwhile, the African Union condemns the RSF for an attack on village in Al-Jazira state, which left 150 people dead, including 35 children. Finally, we see how on the Tunisian island of Djerba, one man is using AI to preserve his Muslim community’s cultural heritage.
