EasyJet to Introduce Extended Flight Route to Enchanting African Destination

EasyJet is ⁤preparing to‍ launch its longest flight from the UK, connecting London’s Gatwick Airport directly with the picturesque Sal in Cape Verde. This new service is scheduled to commence on March 31, 2025, with each journey spanning nearly six hours.⁤ Covering a distance of 2,332‍ nautical miles, this route‍ will exceed the airline’s current longest domestic flight from Manchester to Hurghada in Egypt‌ at 2,240 nautical miles. Furthermore, this marks EasyJet’s inaugural service into sub-Saharan Africa.

Despite this new route, it’s important to note that EasyJet’s longest journey within its entire operational network remains from Belfast to Hurghada at‌ 2,400 nautical miles. The Gatwick-Sal flights‍ will operate three⁤ times a week aboard A320neo aircraft.

Ali Gayward, EasyJet’s UK country manager stated: “We are thrilled to unveil an exciting‌ array of new routes and‍ holiday packages that⁢ enhance our⁣ customers’ choices and allow them access to⁣ many⁢ beloved destinations. This milestone route leading us into stunning Cape Verde marks our first-ever service in sub-Saharan Africa.”

Exploring Sal Island: A ⁢Tropical Paradise

Sal Island is renowned for its exceptional climate ‍characterized by warm temperatures throughout the year alongside brilliant sandy beaches and crystal-clear waters. The island’s principal resort‍ area known as Santa ⁤Maria boasts numerous amenities including shops, restaurants, and beachfront bars all conveniently ‌located near local accommodations.

Visitors can bask under the sun or⁤ partake in snorkeling adventures while enjoying refreshing beverages by the oceanfront; ample space ensures relaxation along‍ its beautiful shores. Beyond beach activities lie various attractions such as Pedra de Lume salt flats ‌where tourists can ⁣float seamlessly on its saline waters.

Nature enthusiasts will be captivated by‌ the Blue Eye—a ‌natural lava rock pool that emanates a vivid turquoise hue during specific daylight hours—offering ⁢an idyllic ⁣spot for exploration and ‌photography. Additionally, birdwatching opportunities abound on Sal Island where species such as frigatebirds‌ and grey herons are frequently spotted throughout rugged coastal⁤ landscapes.

For those seeking nighttime entertainment options⁢ after sunset experiences abound with recent initiatives like the newly opened Casino Royal providing visitors with more⁢ avenues for leisure after dark.

Conclusion: A New ‌Era for EasyJet

The introduction of this flight heralds ⁤a significant expansion opportunity for EasyJet amidst continued investments aimed at enhancing connectivity‌ within crucial markets such as the UK—where airline operations have reached unprecedented levels ⁣in⁣ terms of frequency this year alone.. As travelers seek unique destinations like‌ Cape Verde more than ever before now might be time add this enchanting ⁣island getaway onto your travel ⁣itinerary!
